Who is Griffith Chamber of Commerce?

Griffith Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a representative group of businesses from within the wider community working together to promote, support (or oppose) legislative and other measures affecting the interests and progress the City of Griffith. The committee consists of a cross section of the community,
including large business, small business, hospitality, developers and community groups.

Here is a list of of what we've achieved in 2010/11:

  • Chamber Alliance - In December 2010 we signed the Chamber Alliance with NSW Business Chamber, this offers members of Griffith Business Chamber who have opted in, a yearly total value of $1093.00 - At no additional cost. Haven't opted in yet? See attached form & list of benefits.
  • We have been instrumental in the fight for our Water, with executive Paul Pierotti also sitting on the Executive Murrumbidgee Valley Stake holder group & we were closely involved in the visit from Alan Jones & 2GB, and the successful dinner held in his honor.
  • We have held a successful Easter Saturday Side Walk Sale Extravaganza - & are looking forward to a bigger and better event for the 2011 Christmas event - watch this space.
  • We have once again held the Festival of Gardens Shop Front competition - the competition will be held again in October 2011.
  • We have formed a cohesive relationship with Griffith City council and now meet with the Economic development committee on a quarterly basis.
  • We finally got our citrus sculpture up and going, with thanks to Sam DiFiore!
  • We are researching all our options in relation to air services for Griffith, the possibility of an additional carrier and have met with Warrick Lodge from Rex to discuss matters of concern as a business community that uses the services they provide.
  • We have been involved in the "Griffith Leaving Certificate".
  • Adele and the team of the Resources Credit Union Outstanding business awards committee again successfully held the annual awards function.
  • We continue on the Urban Enhancement Committee at Griffith City Council.
  • We are represented on the Yambil Street flooding.
  • Updated website - With web links now available directly  to your businesses website via member directory.
  • Business after hours.

 
So what's to come in 2011/12:

  • More on the water front - Paul continues to lobby for Griffith and our Businesses, and keeping us informed.
  • Sidewalk sale / Christmas Event / Easter Event.
  • Small Business September - networking event.
  • More Chamber networking events - watch this space for bigger and better things to come!
  • The possible introduction of a "Young Professionals Network".
  • Business Directory.
  • Festival of Gardens Shop Front Competition.
  • Continued Chamber partner alliance with NSW Business Chamber - opted in members.
  • Business after hours.
